How we keep this space safe.
Room 55 is built on trust. These guidelines exist to protect everyone who uses this platform — especially people in vulnerable moments. By using Room 55, you agree to follow them.
These guidelines apply to all peer group interactions, shared content, and any communication on the Room 55 platform. The community forum is not yet open. These guidelines will govern it when it launches.
Be kind and respectful
Everyone here is going through something hard. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated in your worst moment. Disagreement is okay. Cruelty is not.
No unsolicited advice
Unless someone explicitly asks for advice, don't give it. Listening and witnessing are often more valuable than solutions. Ask before advising.
Protect anonymity — yours and others'
Do not share your real name, location, or identifying details. Do not attempt to identify other users. Do not share screenshots of conversations outside the platform.
No harmful content
Do not post content that glorifies, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, violence, abuse, or illegal activity. Crisis resources are always available — use them.
No spam, solicitation, or promotion
Do not promote products, services, other platforms, or yourself. Do not solicit money, personal contact, or relationships from other users.
No harassment or targeting
Do not follow, target, or repeatedly engage with a user who has asked you to stop. Do not post content designed to humiliate, intimidate, or harm a specific person.
Adults only — 18+
Room 55 is for adults 18 and older. If you are under 18 and looking for support, please text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line) or call or text 988. If you believe a minor is using the platform, report it to [email protected].
How we enforce these guidelines
When the forum opens, violations will be reviewed by human moderators. Consequences range from a warning to permanent removal, depending on severity. Content flagged as an immediate safety concern — including posts suggesting imminent harm — will be escalated for human review before action is taken. Moderation is reactive: we remove violating content when we become aware of it and cannot guarantee pre-screening of every post.
